Spring is slowly springing.

Spring is here. No it's not. Yes it is. Well, it's on it's way. Isn't it? The slow arrival of spring is starting to get me down so I was lifted by the discovery of these flowers in my garden. I'm not sure what they are so if anyone has any idea, please let me know.

So a stitching mood lift was this :

I stitched it for Thom's birthday present, being a Moomin lover and extremely fond of the quote by Moomintroll himself, it was a perfect project. Stitched on hand dyed aida with DMC thread black (310) and white (blanc) and the lettering was Stef Francis 6 strand cotton shade 38.

Just a parting pic of Arthur having a wash.

  1. Hello!
Just popped by to thank you for leaving a comment on my blog :) I'm going to try the movie option first before I give up!

Your blog is great btw, Arthur is adorable! I enjoyed seeing your stitching pics too, I used to be totally addicted to cross stitch but haven't picked up a needle for a few years... I keep thinking about it though!

I think the flowers in your pics are hyacinths (the pink ones) and possibly a bluebell, but this could also be a little hyacinth, I can't really tell.

    Jo :)
